CBDA Professional Development Program

Teachers, resource teachers, and other educators can take the next step in their career by joining our Curriculum-Based Dynamic Assessment (CBDA) Professional Development Program.
This comprehensive program is comprised of three parts.

  • The program begins with a one-day certification training session during which we present the science of dynamic assessment and the CBDA rating scales. Participants create their secure account and personal space on our CBDA online platform. How to conduct high-quality mediation sessions and produce automated student assessment reports are explained. Participants receive their CBDA certificate of completion at the conclusion of this training session.

  • The second part of the CBDA Professional Development Program occurs when the participants access the online platform and assess their students. Certified CBDA users will have access to the platform for 12 months after receiving their certificate which is then renewed on a yearly basis.

  • The third part of the CBDA Professional Development Program consists of monthly meetings conducted virtually. These 30–45-minute meetings bring together certified participants. An “information capsule” is presented by TRICOAST Education so participants can continue learning about the latest developments pertaining to the dynamic assessment approach. Following the information capsule, participants share their experiences using the CBDA. Lessons learned, resources, and follow-up strategies are shared in what quickly becomes a CBDA professional learning network.
